Dr. Juliane Mundorf - Molecular Biologist

Dr. Juliane Mundorf studied Molecular Biology at the University of Aberdeen and finished her undergraduate studies at the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg. While working with Prof. Ingrid Lohmann in Heidelberg she became interested in gene regulation and genomic approaches. For her PhD with Prof. Mirka Uhlirova in Cologne she then combined molecular and cell biology techniques with a wide array of genetic tools and next-generation sequencing methods. Her work had a special focus on stress signalling pathways that activate and suppress downstream transcription factors to guide gene regulation. Since January 2020 she strengthens the Ark-Biodiversity team with her expertise in genomics.
